About eTownPanel

eTownPanel was created in 2002 by Gregg Van Ryzin, PhD, a professor and faculty director of survey research, at the School of Public Affairs, Baruch College, The City University of New York. TownPanel is a university-based, nonprofit project that aims to expand the potential of the Internet as a tool for providing citizen-driven feedback on the performance of local governments and for measuring the quality of life in communities across the US.

The online survey are short enough and typically requiring only 5-10 minutes to complete. It is out of politic, religion and marketing.

You will be entered into a drawing for prizes after completing survey, eTownPanel awards prizes in the form of Amazon.com gift certificates. Several respondents to each survey are selected as winners randomly, and the gift certificates are sent to them via email several weeks after the survey closes. With each survey eTownPanel award multiple prizes of various sizes. Typically, it is about fifteen awards of $20 each, although the award could be increased for some surveys. You will be informed about amount of award at invitation email or survey welcome page.

eTownPanel currently focuses on New York City but will soon include additional towns and cities from across the US. Anyone 18 years of age or older who lives in the US are always welcome to sign up to be panelists.
